How did your photography journey start?

I loved art as a kid, but through school I became passionate towards anything that allowed me to combine creativity, with tech. 3D modelling, website design, spending hours on photoshop. With some encouragement from my A Level Photography teacher (shout out to Mr Phillips) - photography essentially became the perfect blend of the two for me. I shot my first wedding in 2018, became full time in 2019 and Kyle joined shortly after. We’ve been the dream team ever since!

What is your general photography style?
Our style is bright and colourful, with a modern twist! We call ourselves ‘alternative wedding photographers’, with a love for tradition-breaking couples and relaxed weddings with an emphasis on fun. We capture the atmosphere of a wedding, from prep to party - the drinks flowing, a whole lot of laughter and plenty of dancing!
What do you enjoy most about the job?
We’re at a point in our business where we are just really proud of what we deliver to our couples. It’s that feeling that makes us love this job. Receiving that message after they’ve seen their photos and film is soooo rewarding. We also just love each other’s company, so getting to work together is majorly cool too!

What do you enjoy most about shooting weddings at Dodmoor?
Having everything in one place is awesome, from getting ready to the ceremony to drinks and dancing. It’s all right there! All of the lovely coordinators make a huge difference to our day too. It’s just a wonderful place to work.
How do you approach shooting a wedding at Dodmoor?
We shoot every full-day wedding as a duo, so you’ll have us both at Dodmoor from prep to party! Kyle is the king of candid’s capturing your guests having the best time, whilst I focus on our couple, florals, decor, groups… and some gorg portraits day and night! Two of you, two of us… it just works.

What are your favourite photo spots at Dodmoor?
We’ve shot sooo many weddings at Dodmoor, but I still aim to mix up the couple photos every time. There’s so many spots to choose from. Currently I’m really loving going down to the canal, and the
bridge just outside of the venue!
How do you approach shooting a rainy wedding day at Dodmoor?
I always say Dodmoor has its own micro climate, as even when it’s forecast rain it seems to be in small spells and truly never impacts the day. We’re also a firm believer in burying a sausage the night before. It works, we swear. If it does rain though, I’m a big fan of clear umbrellas!
What is your favourite part of the wedding day, from a photographer’s perspective?
It’s different at every wedding really! If it’s a lively dance floor I absolutely love flash - so I really enjoy doing shutter drag with glow sticks (or we recently had giant cat cutouts at Dodmoor which were simply amazing). We both love any spontaneous dancing up on the courtyard when a couple hires a singer, or has an outdoor first dance! We just enjoy documenting the atmosphere, so anything that amplifies it is so fun to capture.
What advice would you give to couples for their wedding day, from a photographer’s perspective?
Don’t be afraid to break traditions! Weddings are not cookie-cutter - they should be individualistic, fun and authentically you. Choose the colourful decor, the quirky outfit or the band that’ll play the music you love. Have the pizza, your dog in attendance and invite only those who bring you joy. Plan your dream day and don’t sweat the formalities.
What is something that stands out to you about Dodmoor House?
We shoot weddings across the country and without a doubt our easiest days are here. Everything happens exactly as it should and our couples just spend their day relaxed knowing everything is in hand! We’re super grateful for the relationship we have here and would recommend the venue to anyone!
