FAQs
Who decides if the ceremony can go ahead outdoors?
The registrars have the final say on whether the weather allows an outdoor ceremony. If the forecast is uncertain, we'll make an initial decision together around an hour before the ceremony, although the registrars have the power to overrule this.
Can we have music outside?
Yes. We provide a PA speaker system for recorded music, along with microphones for the registrars, celebrants and anyone doing readings.
Can we have confetti?
Confetti is only permitted in the Courtyard or inside the barns. For outdoor ceremonies, a £100 refundable confetti clear-up deposit applies. Confetti must be real or dried petals only.
When do we need to decide?
We'll usually discuss your preferred ceremony location at your main planning meeting 2-3 months before the wedding, but you can change your mind right up until around a week beforehand. We just need a final decision the morning before your wedding.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We will set up an indoor ceremony as well, so we can simply revert to this plan if needed on the day. If you are planning for the ceremony to be in the courtyard, you can only have this if there is no chance of rain on the day, as we cannot move 60 chairs inside if is starts to shower – this is the beauty of the benches as they can be left out and a last minute decision can be made.
