How did you meet:
Tinder – sorry it’s not more exciting then that! I had my distance set to 40 miles. Mike had his distance set much shorter. With him being in Bedford and myself in Peterborough, if it wasn’t for me we would have never meet so I’m the reason we are now married!

The proposal:
We were in Central Park in New York. It was a very hot day and we found a shaded area near a lake where people were rowing boats. Mike came to sit next to me on a bench and next thing I knew he was on one knee holding out a ring.
What made you choose Dodmoor for your special day:
The size of the venue was very important as we weren’t having a big wedding. How the venue was laid out was important too as nothing was too spread out. Kara was great at showing us around. Also the price, we managed to get a bit of discount which is always helpful. Even the drinks package sounded great. And I liked how important it was for Dodmoor to make it budget friendly but also to execute the perfect wedding for couples.
The vision:
Our theme was pink green and gold with whimsical elements. Kara and her team did a fantastic job at bringing my vision to life.
The outfits:
My dress was a Madison James called Halani in ivory/champagne/nude with added detachable sleeves. I got the dress from Shades of white in St Ives. Mike had a hire suit from Moss Bros.
The food:
We had a 2 course wedding breakfast from Portfolio. With evening food being a burger van and donut wall.
Your favourite part of the day:
Walking down the aisle. I didn’t know how I was going to feel but seeing Mike standing there with tears in his eyes I knew I was making the right decision in marrying this man!
What made Dodmoor stand out:
How well organised they are. I know they have so many weddings each week. I’m amazed at how much time they take to make sure each wedding goes smoothly and nothing goes amiss.
The plan/idea that you felt really worked on the day:
It all worked out perfectly. I couldn’t pick just one thing.
The entertainment:
We had a ceremony band called Blue moon for the ceremony and reception drinks. Then in the evening we had Terry from smooth moves who provided us with a DJ.
Where your budget was well spent:
The decorations such as the arch. We decided to use artificial flowers to save money and it really paid off. The photos are amazing.
Our personal touches:
Having the word searches and crosswords for our guests to do during the wedding breakfast. It was all we heard about as our guests were trying to figure out the answers.
Recommended suppliers you used and loved:
With love and roses! Hannah was kind enough to deliver some flowers to the near by b&b and also drop off some flowers for the cake and button holes
Our tip to other couples:
Be as organised as possible to make it easier for the Dodmoor team.
Thank you to Sophie and Mike for sharing the details of their special day with us and to Eames Photography for sharing their lovely photos with us.
