How did your photography journey start?

I picked up a camera years ago thinking it’d just be a hobby… and then realised I loved capturing people’s stories. One thing led to another, and here I am, photographing amazing weddings for a living.

Best decision ever.

What is your general photography style?

Relaxed, natural, and fun. I’m all about those candid, in-the-moment shots where people forget I’m even there. No stiff posing, no awkwardness, just the real vibe of the day.

What do you enjoy most about the job?

The people. Every wedding has its own energy and characters, and being able to document all of that in a way that feels true to the couple is the best part. Plus, no two days are ever the same.

What do you enjoy most about shooting weddings at Dodmoor?

Dodmoor has such a warm, friendly feel — the team are brilliant and the space just works perfectly for weddings. It’s relaxed but beautiful, and that balance makes it a joy to shoot at every time.

How do you approach shooting a wedding at Dodmoor?

With fresh eyes each time. I’ve shot there loads, but I always want to make the photos feel unique to the couple. I’ll use the beautiful spots Dodmoor has, but also keep things relaxed and spontaneous.

What are your favourite photo spots at Dodmoor?

The backdrop of Dodmoor House is my favourite, the trees surrounding the pathway leading to the house always look amazing in photos no matter the weather. I love the barns for their texture and warmth too. Honestly though, the light at Dodmoor does a lot of the work for me!

How do you approach shooting a rainy wedding day at Dodmoor?

Rain never ruins the fun. Dodmoor’s barns are cosy and atmospheric, and the team are great at making things flow smoothly indoors. Plus, umbrellas make for brilliant photos, I always encourage couples to embrace it.

What is your favourite part of the wedding day, from a photographer’s perspective?

That moment just after the ceremony, the couple are buzzing, everyone’s hugging, confetti’s flying… It's pure happiness. You can’t stage that kind of joy, and it’s amazing to capture.

What advice would you give to couples for their wedding day, from a photographer’s perspective?

Don’t stress about the little things — the day goes fast, so focus on enjoying it together. The best photos happen when you’re relaxed and present, not worrying about the timeline.

What is something that stands out to you about Dodmoor House?

The team, 100%. They make everything feel effortless, and that rubs off on the whole day. The venue itself is beautiful, but it’s the people behind it that make Dodmoor so special.

Thanks so much to Luke for sharing his story, and his thoughts about photography and Dodmoor House!
