Laura and Greg's Summer Wedding

Updated: Aug 26, 2021

How we met...

A mutual friend introduced us.

The proposal...

Was perfect! Greg hid the ring in one of my Christmas presents and proposed in front of my family. It was a lovely memory, especially as my Dad is no longer with us.

Our vision for the day...

We didn't have a theme really, other than books and purple. We were going for a rustic shabby chic kind of vibe.

The outfits...

Greg had a light grey suit with a purple tie. I had a beautiful hand beaded aline dress from Gabriella Bridal in Northampton.

The food...

There was tons of food! We had BBQ finger food from Gallarwood.

Our favourite part of the day...

Getting to be with all our friends and family during Covid.

The idea we felt really worked on the day...

Having a cupcake tower and boxes ready to go so our guests could take them home.

Entertainment we put on...

A pub quiz.

Where we feel our budget was really well spent...

I have to say Dodmoor, because not only did we get a beautiful place to get married, we got invaluable advice and help as well.

Personal touches that reflected us as a couple...

The decorations, having the DIY table runner made of pages and book centrepieces.

Suppliers we used and loved...

We used Gallarwood Catering. We loved the food and the quantity of it. We also used Gardeners Bakery for the cake. They were very helpful, reasonably priced and it was delicious!

Finally, if we could give a tip to other couples...

Concentrate on what really matters. Things will go wrong or not turn out the way you plan but the most important thing is marrying the one you love in front of your family and friends.

Special thanks to Laura and Greg for sharing their story, and to Lauren Collins Photography for the photos x
