How we met...
We used to work together
The proposal...
When we first started out together we loved walking and found a particular canal walk that soon became our favourite. Nick popped the question on this favourite walk. It was very romantic and emotional

What made us choose Dodmoor...
We initially enquired with Dodmoor for the evening reception and once we’d seen it, we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Mark and the team offered such a brilliant bespoke deal that it just felt like fate. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to be getting married at such a stunning venue
Our vision for the day...
We knew we wanted the guest list for the ceremony small, intimate and low key. We opted for minimal decorations, which worked so well given the barns at Dodmoor are so beautiful, we didn’t feel like we needed much. The colour theme was rustic burnt orange which complimented the barnes rustic look perfectly

The outfits...
Nick wore a navy suit with an oatmeal waist coast matched with a burnt orange tie. I wore a very plain, simple long sleeve dress. We thought these would be practical but also elegant for a winter wedding
The food...
We chose to feed our guests a savoury selection and charcuterie grazing boards as a buffet style. These were so well presented, delicious to eat and meant there was plenty of choice for everyone, kids and adults alike
Our favourite moments...
For me it was just after the ceremony, the nerves had gone and I could look around and see all our families and friends smiling and happy. It felt like there was so much love in the room
Nicks favourite moment was sitting at the top table looking around in awe of all our families and friends mingling together
What made Dodmoor stand out...
It’s just the most stunning venue and it’s right on our doorstep. It’s absolutely gorgeous and all the team are so professional and friendly. It was an absolute no brainer for us!
The plan or idea that worked well on the day...
The intimate ceremony worked really well, it was nice to keep it small and simple

The entertainment...
We had a DJ for the evening and we had a good mix of music playing which kept the dance floor full all evening. We also had a photo booth which all the guests loved and mini duck hunt games for the kids to find and win prizes

Where the budget was best spent...
Without question the best part of our budget spent was on Dodmoor. So many guests commented on how beautiful it was and every little detail was just perfect! Beth- Rai and the team were fantastic, every little detail executed perfectly, nothing was forgotten, we were constantly checked upon. It was the best day and it wouldn’t have been half as good without every single member of staff working tirelessly and constantly smiling
Our personal touches...
The decorations we had, all be it minimal were homemade and ended up being a labour of love so it was amazing to see these on display. We also had photos of lost loved ones on display and that meant so much to us both.

Our suppliers...
As we live locally to Dodmoor we used the best local vendors and were so impressed with them all. We would highly recommend each and everyone of them:
Buffet - The cater lady
Cake - The Kilworth cake company
DJ - Onslow karaoke disco
Photo Booth - L-M-G Event Hire
Photographer - A & I Rose Photography

Our tips for future couples...
Spend more time together on the wedding day. We both promised to do this and didn’t, we were busy getting round to talk to all our guests which was lovely but we wished we had taken a few more moments together throughout the day
A massive thank you to Emma and Nick for sharing their story with us and A and I Rose Photography for bringing their story to life
