How you met…
We had known of each other, crossed paths at rugby games and on the dance floor at Rev’s for years. Through friends we got chatting at a Saints rugby game.
The proposal…
On Fireworks night (my favourite) in Cambridge with the most beautiful ring that Jordan had designed himself!
Why we chose Dodmoor for our special day…
We visited at night, wanting a winter wedding with a twinkly, Christmassy feel, and Dodmoor delivered!!
The vision and theme for the day…
We went for navy, deep reds and greens and gold. Wintery Christmas feel. I wanted everyone to have a day they would remember where they had eaten, drank and partied hard- we had exactly the day I dreamt of.
The outfits!
I changed my dress 3 weeks before our wedding day, causing a lot of stress for my poor sister who was pulling her hair out trying to help me find a new one. I loved my dress and was so happy I changed it. I had my late grandma’s handwriting sewn into it too. My bridesmaids wore red multi way dresses which worked really well for all sizes. My nieces wore red sequins and my daughter a white flower girl dress. The men wore navy suits with matching ties.
Food…
We used Fraser at Passion Food Events, who was amazing! I wanted sharing boards of Christmas dinner because I wanted everyone to be able to eat as much to as little as they wanted. Followed by a Christmassy, glittery boozy pudding! It was all absolutely amazing.
Our favourite part of the day…
Walking down the aisle, although I was nervous I loved seeing Jordan’s face and I heard my little boy say “Mummy you look like a princess” which kept me smiling all the way down to Jordan!
How Dodmoor as a venue stood out to us…
They were extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
What was the plan/idea you felt really worked on the day?
The Undercover Waiters were absolutely brilliant, everyone commented on how much fun they were.
We had a Photo Booth on the mezzanine which was a great location (on the way to the bar!)
The entertainment…
Where we felt our budget was well spent…
Dodmoor’s drink package
