Amanda and Tom's Winter Wedding

How we met and the proposal...

We met online. The proposal involved a nervous Tom who blurted it out on our first family holiday to Center Parcs, after handing me apple pie and custard whilst our then 3 month old played on the floor!

Our vision for the day... Boho, hints of Christmas and relaxed.

What we wore...

My dress was from 'Dress Me Pretty' in Hinckley. My Hair was by Nicola Bunn and makeup by Fitface Makeup. I like to be a little different and comfortable, and after trying on a million dresses, I found a two piece which suited my personality and was so comfy! I spent half the day spinning around like a little girl. I have since had the skirt shortened into a knee length skirt and even had a Pole photoshoot wearing it ha! Tom had a Navy suit from Burton, and grey waistcoat from Next, which we managed to get for our son Oryn too.

The food...

We had an afternoon tea during the day and burger bbq for the evening by Ian Brodie Catering, plus Krispy Kreme Donuts and Pick and Mix.

Our favourite part of the day...

We LOVED it all! In particular Amanda's was the sparklers and Tom initiating a sparkler sword fight, plus how our Honeymoon Suite was set up at the end of the evening by Dodmoor with some of our wedding cake. Tom's was our then 16 month old Son Oryn eating crisps loudly whilst we said our vows!

The plan that we felt really worked on the day...

All of it! Dodmoor had such a fab plan and liaised with all our suppliers, so that we didn't need to think at all! We loved their suggestions of the guests immediately leaving the ceremony into a group photo and having our sparkler arch before leading everyone in to our cake cutting and first dance! It all flowed so lovely!

The entertainment...

We had boxes of mini pub quizzes on the tables during the afternoon tea with colouring packs for the kids, and the Sparks Wedding band for the evening.

Where we feel our budget was really well spent...

My dress was under £500 and worth closer to £2000, plus Dodmoor as a venue! So many guests thought we paid so much more than we had, especially for an exclusive venue.

Personal touches that reflected us as a couple...

Amanda is a fitness instructor so changed into trainers with bows on straight after the ceremony! The afternoon tea with cocktails, Amanda's dress, the dried flower bouquet, live music... Our sparkler sword fight really summed us up... ALL OF IT!

Suppliers we used and loved...

Angie and Matt Films, plus Sky Photography. All three of them were a pleasure to have at our wedding. Their work speaks for itself. We were truly gutted when it was time to say goodbye!

Finally, if we could give a tip to other couples...

Go with the flow and do not stress! We had the best time, we did not worry, we enjoyed every second! We made sure we got a few minute alone - mainly during the photos where we talked about the day so far, and our photos reflect those happy, giggly moments! Take a second to sit back and look at all your guests, and treasure it.

Special thanks to Amanda and Tom for sharing their story, and Sky Photography for the photos x
