Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to... At Dodmoor House, we're here to make the journey feel relaxed, enjoyable and completely your own. From the first enquiry, to the viewing, throughout the planning stages, and on the wedding day itself, our team will be here to answer questions, offer advice and help bring it all together.

Personal service...

Personal service is something we are very proud of at Dodmoor, and something that is incredibly important to us (and has been ever since we opened in 2006)! We have won several awards for customer service (including the Hitched and Bridebook awards), as well as winning the 'Best Event Team' in the 2019 UK National Wedding Industry Awards. We passionately believe in giving your wedding the service and personal touch it deserves.

We are a family-run wedding venue, and exclusive use of the barns is always guaranteed - meaning the venue is all yours for you and your guests on the Big Day. We can provide you with an extensive list of local suppliers to contact if you choose, or we offer the flexibility of sourcing all of your own suppliers if you wish (including caterers), meaning the day is 100% YOURS and your own style.

We want you to feel in safe hands from the get-go, and would always encourage you to call or email us with any questions you may have - however big or small - as we are happy to help with whatever you might need!

Your Viewing...

From the moment we meet you on your initial viewing, our aim is to find out what you're looking for and what YOU would like for your special day. We will detail how a day at Dodmoor could look, while listening to your ideas and ensuring that we can shape the day to be exactly what you're dreaming of.

Our team of coordinators are all wedding obsessed themselves, and could talk for hours about your plans and ideas!

After a viewing you would have the choice to hold a date for two weeks if you'd like (there is no cost to do this), and the date would be held in your name while you are making further wedding decisons.

Contacting Us...

You can easily reach us at any point during the day (mostly Monday to Friday, but we are able to answer some emails over the weekends too!), whether this is by phone, WhatsApp or email.

We aim to respond to emails and messages as quickly as possible, and everyone in the office can help with whatever you may need - a quick question over WhatsApp or a detailed conversation over the phone. It's our pleasure!

Open Evenings...

Booking your wedding doesn't mean you visit once and then disappear until the big day! We hold a number of Open Events throughout the year, giving you the opportunity to come over and discuss your ideas further with us, meet potential suppliers and bring family and friends to see the venue if you wish!

There's always food and drink tastings, plus the chance to see the venue in the evening (if you haven't already), so you can get a glimpse of how things would look both day and night. You are welcome to attend as many of these as you like in the lead up to your big day, and bring friends and family too!

Your Planning Meeting...

Your 'Day in Detail' planning meeting would usually take place around 2-3 months before the wedding, to go through every detail of the day, so that nothing is left to chance on the day itself.

It is at this meeting that you will meet your personal wedding coordinator, and they will be your dedicated point of contact from that point onwards (however please note that if this person was ever out of the office or on holiday, there are still plenty of us available to help or answer any questions in their absence!).

In your meeting, timings, ideas, decor plans, suppliers and everything else will be discussed. We won't let you leave without feeling like you know exactly how the day is going to run, and who is doing what!

The aim is to finalise everything (ar as much as possible) at this point, so you feel at ease knowing that your plans are in safe hands. We will take thorough notes throughout the meeting, enabling us to then put together a 'wedding plan' for your day. This plan will be sent out to both you and your suppliers, so everyone involved knows what's happening.

"Our ‘Day in Detail’ meeting was great. Kara and Louise came to the meeting having thought through almost every minute of the day - it really was so thorough! They let us know of any potential logistical issues, and had solutions for them too. The Lead Up...

During the lead up from the planning meeting to the Big Day, your wedding coordinator would be your main point of contact for anything you may need. However, as mentioned above, if your coordinator was not available for whatever reason, there would always be someone else from the team who can help! Your questions would never be left unanswered.

Your coordinator will also reach out to all of your suppliers, confirming details of the day and sending them the 'wedding plan' notes from your planning meeting. This means everyone will know exactly what is happening when, and everyone will be on the same page on the wedding day!

The Big Day...

Your coordinator will be there for you all day (usually from around 10am-9pm) on the wedding day itself, but there will also be a whole team of Dodmoor staff there to support your day too (with an evening manager taking over when your wedding coordinator finishes their shift)!

While your suppliers will set up their items for you (such as a florist or venue dresser) and your caterers will handle all things catering related, the Dodmoor Team are on-site from 8.30am to prep for the day from our side, and then oversee everything from the very start to the very end.

Your coordinator will be present at all times for anything you may need, but our main aim is for you to relax and enjoy the day, and really not need to worry about a thing! We will be ensuring the venue is set, welcoming suppliers, keeping an eye on timings, serving drinks, and making sure everything is happening as and when it should!

We like to ensure that everything goes to plan, while also feeling like a friendly face who will pop up every now and then to make sure you have everything you need and the day is going as you wish, without feeling intrusive.

You really don't have to worry about a single thing on the day because the whole team are absolute pro's and will ensure everything runs without an issue. They're also incredibly flexible and can adapt seamlessly if you need to make any minor changes. What we really appreciated though was the warmth and personal touch.
